Just heard that Toyota is now partnering with Suzuki! They already are working with Mazda, they are pretty much a majority share holder in Subaru’s parent company, bought out Daihatsu out right this year, and I’m pretty sure they have a stake in Isuzu! Add that to Nissan taking Mitsubishi (before Toyota could) and Japan may be only Toyota, Nissan, and Honda as far as automakers go. Crazy!

Are they still working with BMW or did that project dissolve?

They still make an ugly truck. And so does Nissan.

Well Toyota has no chance of purchasing BMW. All these companies they are partnering with are all companies they can actually buy. Notice that Toyota has never partnered with Nissan or Honda for new technologies (while GM and Ford have worked on a 10-speed transmision). Their annual R&D budget nears 10 times the amount many of these smaller companies Toyota is partnering with can budget. Literally Toyota doesn’t need these partnerships, they are leverages. Only the BMW partnership makes any financial business sense.

Mark my words, Toyota will own/merge with at least two of these companies before the end of the decade, if not all of them.

They make the Hilux though. Who cares about ugly? The Hilux just is.

The Tundra is just so ugly though. The Tacoma isn’t bad but the Tundra is terribad, I think it is the c-pillar.

Its interesting that Honda doesnt give a crap about sharing or even having stakes in other car companies. I mean they havent really done anything since the Isuzu SUVs and loaning out V6 to GM for their Saturns. I mean Daimler and Nissan, FCA and Mazda, and even Ford and GM (probably the biggest auto rivalry) teamed up recently to make 9 speed trans. Unless im missing something the other than working with Google
